What is Consciousness?

When one finds his or her spiritual path, one works to achieve what is called Higher Consciousness; a complete awakening from the false consciousness of the modern West and its materialist way of viewing reality.  All of us from birth are conditioned into accepting “solid reality.”  Even the main religion of the West for the last 2,000 years, Christianity, views reality as solid with “God” somewhere outside of time and space.

The average Westerner is hypnotized by the media, ideology, and calcified theology; all a Foreign Installation that makes everyone believe in the Lie.  The Lie is that we are all oppressed, that we aren’t divine beings, and that the world and we ourselves are real.  We are NOT real.  We do NOT exist.  Once one understands this completely, one is an Initiate, and one is free.  Nothing can oppress you because those things that were causing self-doubt, fear, and anxiety do not exist.  They are all chimeras of the mind forced into our consciousness of the culture and society around us.

Most of us in the West have a linear perception of time that comes to a resolution of perfection.  Since the beginning of the Christian Era, we have perceived time as having an end point in the return of Jesus Christ as the world moves toward perfection.  This concept infects everyone regardless of religion or political persuasion and is the result of a society that has given itself over to the false notion of “progress.”  One does not have to be a Christian to have this concept possess your entire way of perceiving the world.  It is why the average citizen of the West cannot control anything about his life, why he feels jostled about and miserable.  When one truly feels a connection to what is above, and when one truly achieves consciousness, all these lies disperse and one is left with the Truth and an inner sense of power.

Prior to awakening, the individual moves through his day-to-day life with no interaction nor interplay with the spiritual forces around him that exist beyond the veil but enter our reality for communication.  There are only mundane tasks that are assigned him and he follows dutifully without question.  He moves through his existence as a prisoner without walls, without any sense of coincidence, synchronicity, nor miracles in his life.  His time moves faster and faster so he does not possess his life and views the world as an oppressive place.  The Universe does not communicate with this individual.  He is, in essence, a member of the walking dead.

When one is an Initiate this façade crumbles and one is a part of infinity.  This occurs when one leaves the world behind and changes his perception and stills his mind through yoga and meditation.  He then eliminates all unnecessary thought and focuses on the Long Now.  With an extended cessation of all thought, the Initiate stops time.  As the Initiate focuses his mind and eliminates doubt and second guessing, he is filled with light, and what were barriers before are now removed and he moves through life with ease and detachment.  The Universe speaks to him through sign, coincidence, and omen.  When he makes decisions, the Universe guides him.  Time slows down and he is able to truly live life.

Once he achieves union with the Divine through mediation, all his errors are forgiven and he has no fear nor anxiety.  Through Intellectual Intuition he is guided by the gods within himself.  He radiates outward the power from above that fills him.  Now he is a center of power and he is awake.  This is the essence of what is called Higher Consciousness.  It is the soul, mind, and body in Union with Infinity.

Once the Initiate loses himself in meditation, he will stare into the deepest void, and he will no longer be afraid of death, for he will realize that life and consciousness are continuous with no beginning nor end, that all his thoughts were thought by someone else before and that his body is just a container for eternal consciousness.  All the old bonds and debts are gone and he is free to take action.  As his mind becomes still in meditation he will ride the lightning flash into infinity, and the veils of Maya will be removed and he will find union with Atman; the Soul of God as the Inner Self.

The Inner Self as God is the essence of spirituality and consciousness.  It is the Soul of an individual awakened into the mysteries of existence as his life becomes a myth within itself.  All the old Pagan myths are not silly, literalist fables but rather meditations on the mysteries of consciousness, and as one partakes of these mysteries, he joins the gods in their dance of life.  This Initiation into the Higher Worlds is known as the Great Work.  All are welcome on this journey but only the strong are able to complete this arduous task.  The achievement of Cosmic Consciousness is the goal of all spiritual work and is the essence of the Primordial Tradition and Initiation into the Pagan Mysteries.
